The legendary Brazilian composer and singer, Gilberto Gil will open the 2008 edition of "Jazz in Carthage" on April 10, 2008. The artist will feature a performance of the successful show 'Gil Luminoso,' which he presented to an American audience during his US tour in March 2007.
It is expected that Amar Sundy (Blues Tuareg), William Parker jazz band , Dhafer Youssef (oriental jazz and mystical) and Gino Paoli (Italian jazz) will perform on the Carthage scene.
Jazz in Carthage will celebrate its 4th edition in 2008, Over the years, it has managed to raise to the level of Tunisia's other famous jazz festival, the "Tabarka Jazz festival," thanks to the quality and diversity of performing artists. These include Barbara Hendricks, Anouar Brahem, Dee Dee Bridgewater, as well as Ike Turner.
