The study found the four largest carbon emitters per capita in the Gulf to be the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, with the UAE leading the way.
The study was discussed at the British University in Dubai earlier this year to analyze the impact of rising sea levels on population displacement in the Middle East.
